Engines to be rebuilt are torn down, and thoroughly cleaned. The block and heads are then magnafluxed to ensure that they are not cracked. The cylinders are bored to fit a set of new pistons. The crankshaft is ground and the connecting rods are resized to fit. The heads are surfaced and the valves reconditioned or replaced as needed. They are reassembled to OEM standards, with new valve guides, exhaust seats, valve stem seals. The engine is then reassembled, with new pistons and rings, rod, main and cam bearings, new oil pump, new camshaft, lifters, timing chain, sprockets and gaskets. |
